Yamba Manufactured Housing Estate (MHE)

MDE have been heavily involved in the The Clifton Yamba Manufactured Housing Estate from the early stages of DA concept design and approval right through to detailed design and construction. The project is located in Carrs Drive Yamba and forms part of the West Yamba Urban Release Area.

The development model aims to provide a solution to some of the main issues facing Australians in recent times – housing affordability and development that caters for an ageing population.

The site itself presented a number of constraints including flooding and lack of trunk water and sewer services. MDE’s role in the project has to date involved concept design, due diligence reporting and budgeting, DA design, detailed civil engineering design for Construction Certificate approval, project management of all other detailed design consultants, project management for the construction phase of works and Superintendence and Contract Administration throughout the construction phase.

The following is a snapshot of the key project information:

  • Import of over 130,000m3 of fill to raise site levels above the 1 in 100 year flood inundation level
  • Construction of over 3.5km of trunk pressure sewer to allow sewer servicing for the site
  • Design and construction of a low pressure sewer system within the estate
  • Reconstruction of Carrs Drive to raise road levels above the 1 in 20 year flood inundation level
  • Over 15,000m2 of concrete pavements
  • Fully gated community with access control, intercom system and CCTV
